“Life’s a bitch but I’m not.”
Having a pretty fucked up family hasn’t made Emily change at all and she’s determined not to let it affect her in any possible way. She’s strong, just like her cousins and she doesn’t want to be a victim, instead, she tries to adapt and overcome. Just because one of her brothers is crazy and the other one is an asshole, even though he really cares about her, doesn’t mean she has to be a bitch. Her parents being dead isn’t a big issue for her either, she adores her cousins and getting to live with them is the best thing that could have ever happened to her. Not only does she gets the protection of the alpha of the pack, but she has her role-models right there: Isabelle with the way she’s able to connect with humans and how she is so motherly and caring and Jane, because of her intelligence and her entirely different points of view. Emily wants to learn from them and follow into Jane’s footsteps by becoming a nurse some day, someone who will be able to take care of the pack. There is no point in denying it, but she’s pretty ambitious and one of her dreams is to become the alpha female of Tala Springs’ pack. She knows that role should belong to Isabelle and her mate but if she has to leave her family for a new pack she would. She doesn’t feel rejected, she’s just pretty ambitious.
There is also someone else in her life whom she loves dearly, more than her own brothers and more than her cousins and that happens to be Alec. Ever since he arrived to town, they became best friends. Emily’s barely one year younger than him, but if it wasn’t because of that, they would almost be like twins. Always spending time together when she’s not too busy studying or Alec isn’t working. He’s special and she’s able to tell why, he’s somewhat the opposite of her brother Matt and of course hates the fact that Johnny is trying to provoke him constantly, making her feel torn on where she should lay her support. At this point, it’s pretty obvious that beside considering him as her own brother, she has a very silly crush on him, simply because no matter what, he always has a smile for everyone. For her. No wonder she gets so angry every time she heard someone calling him retarded or insulting him.
Leaving her ambition aside, Emily is a sweetheart. She’s a dreamer and she loves spending time in the woods as either a human or a wolf, meaning she really loved being a graced wolf and she understands, unlike her brother, that being able to change and become a human for the day is a gift which he has to use in his favor. Usually, people are a bit taken aback by her attitude, despite being so sweet, she’s also a bit of a dork, always speaking very loudly with animated gestures and above everything else, being plain honest. Emily doesn’t understand how some people don’t want to hear the truth but she will always say what on her mind and be honest no matter what. What she doesn’t get is how the simple truth, something that avoids future discussions and further lies, can make so many people feel uncomfortable, especially the humans. Even though she doesn’t like to scare people away from her by making them feel uncomfortable, she’s not going to change her ways because just as she’s straightforward, she just thinks that it is the right thing to do. Emily has established her own rules in the game and it’s her way to go on.
